Feature Request - Custom Enumerators for Variables

Kevin Barnett 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 3 months ago 1

It would be nice to be able to create custom enums for variables.

enum DamageType { slashing, pierce, blunt }
enum ArmorType { flesh, wood, stone, metal }

Unity version:
2019.4
Game Creator version:
1.1.9

Although I initially was tempted, I discarded the idea because it made the game too rigid. Having these tags doesn't really add anything unless you specify what each of these does.

Remember that when attacking, you don't need to stick to a single Formula. You could have a Sword that does blunt damage and slash damage in a single hit. You can first calculate the damage output for the Slash and take the enemy's slash resistance and then do the same for the blunt damage.

This makes it much more flexible, because you are now longer constrained by a list of damage types. You can create your own types of damage as you like.
