Start Clothing and Equipment

Medafor 3 months ago in Inventory updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 3 months ago 3

Where or how can I setup my characters start clothing. I have a shirt and pants setup, it works fine when equipping manually. I'd like to have specific clothing items already equipped when starting a new game. Thanks.

Unity version:
2019.3.13
Game Creator version:
1.1.8

Medafor,

Standard Game Creator (Inventory) Actions can accomplish this in much the same way you'd have it occur in game.

Create an On Start Trigger and call two Actions:

  1. Add Item to Inventory (Action-->Inventory/Item)
  2. Equip the Item (Action-->Inventory/Equip Item)

From my build (so the player starts with some underwear and I don't get a Mature rating! :-)):

Note that I've put in some .1 second wait actions. These may not strictly be necessary here, but I'm in the habit of adding these to give some breathing room. It makes subsequent actions start in the next frame and can sometimes prevent glitches when actions try to run simultaneously.

Hope that helps!
