So i am not sure if this has been done before, but posting this here in case any one wants to do it.

All RPGs have a mini map that lets you see where you stand in the world, for the minimap tutorial you can refer to any youtube tuts and its fairy easy to make without scripting.

What i will be sharing is how you can make an active Quest arrow that points to the quest goal using Game Creator.

For this : -

1. Arrow prefab (.fbx) - There are tons freely available on internet, the arrow needs to have character component and disable can control and can jump.

2.Create a global variable of type game object.

3.Create a trigger , on variable change -> gameobject -> invoke follow variable game object.

4. When you trigger a quest, in the end of your quest action, just initialize the game object with your quest goal object, can be any prefab.

5.This way the arrow will point to the direction of your quest goal and hence giving player the hint where your quest goal lies.

something like this

Nice idea! Hoping to see it in action :-)
