Console error: ArgumentOutOfRangeException

Carl Powell 4 months ago in Game Creator updated by Harold 5 days ago 5

Unity version 2019.3.13f1

Imported Game Creator into a fresh empty project. The preferences panel will not load and when that window is active it prompts a console error every second.

I also received 12 single instances of console errors and 5 warnings.

This is the first time I decided to actually use and learn Game Creator today so I'm quite confused. I don't know whether this preferences panel is necessary or not, or what its purpose serves.

Kind Regards,
Carl

The console error:

Hi Carl;

Looks like Game Creator didn't properly get installed. Could you tell us if you moved any asset from Game Creator? Another thing that could be causing problems is that, when installing Game Creator and prompted to select the files to install, you've deselected any of them. Might that be the case?

I received the same issue.  Using 2019.4.10f1.  It was a brand new project, nothing else was installed. I didn't move any assets, not did I deselect anything on the install.

i tried to reinstall it into the same scene to check if i missed anything and it prompted that i have already installed everything possible for basic GC. I want to point out that i now know i am able to successfully access the GC windows 'preferences' from the top drop down menu. it only was black and blank when it popped up after initial installation/import.

Try 2019.3.14f1 I have no more problems

But did you move any files? Try creating a new project and installing Game Creator without moving any files and choosing all file from the import window (should be set by default though).

If this doesn't work, try using 2018.4 and see if it works there, to narrow down the problem. This is the officially supported version.
