I'm having trouble accessing local variables directly on the player, my Player has an sName variable initially set to "None":
If I want to display this in the UI I can do so by specifying to take the variable from the GameObject Player (this works):
But if I try to access the variable direct from the player (instead of via a GameObject) it doesn't display the name in the UI at all (but does display the label):
What am I doing wrong?
