All item erased when I update inventory module

JOON 5 months ago in Inventory updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 5 months ago 2

Hi, Marti

when I download & import new version of inventory module and disable the example of inventory module, I was surprised and shocked because all of items which I made had gone.... sadly, I didn't back up these items....

updating new version can erase game data is really insane situation for me. patch must never touch any game data. I think the data of preferences will be effected from updating new versions. maybe the reason of erasing data is disable/enable examples. maybe it has some chances to erase and re-write "item data" of the inventory modules....

Unity version:
Game Creator version:

and I also got some insane error messages like below. even I don't use any recipe... :(

When you import the example scenes from a module, we'll need to override some data in order to add our own items (the sword, the hat, the armor, etc...). However, when you disable the examples, these get destroyed so your project is kept clean.

I understand this is a bit counter intuitive, and we'll see if we can either keep the example generated data when removing examples or look for a way to change this behavior.

However, I'm afraid you'll have to pull from a backup to restore your items.
