What is an invoker?

marjohloo 5 months ago in Game Creator updated by Forrest195 5 months ago 4

Hopefully a simple question, maybe not a simple answer. In the actions what is the invoker?

I've searched the docs and it is not really explained, if there is a doc or video feel free to just point me there.

Unity version:
2018.4.21f
Game Creator version:
1.1.6

Invoker is the object who triggers the Actions or Trigger. It can pass through the whole Triggers and Actions chain. E.g., A triggers B’s triggers, then immediately, B’s Trigger triggers C’s Actions. So, A is the invoker of the C’s Actions, but not B. That’s what I found so far. Hope it can help you to understand the invoker.

Thanks Quincy! That's exactly it.

A followup question, is an invoker always a character or player or can it be other objects?

An Invoker can be any object that triggers an action, not limited to just Players or Characters!
