easing

Jay Bacal 5 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 5 months ago 3

The Elastic and Back easing options do not appear to be working properly.  For the elastic option the motion is very jerky.  The Back easing option appears to have no visible effect.

Thanks,

Jay

Not Reproducible

Try increasing the duration to something like 1 second or so. These easing functions have been battle tested and shouldn't be providing any issues. If you still find them, would you mind sharing a video capture of each of the problems?

This video shows Elastic Out.  The motion is very "start and stop" /jerky and not as smooth and elastic as I would expect from working with other easing implementations.

This video shows the Back In Out easing option.  I was expecting the motion to " back up" at the start and then over shoot and return to the end position.  This looks more like a normal Quint In Out.

Thanks for your help,
Jay

Fixed

Hi Jay;

Thank you very much for pointing this out. I investigated the code and indeed, there's a bug that prevents the easing function from overshooting between the min and max positions.

This issue has already been addressed and I'll publish it for the next update. I'm closing it, but if after the update you still experience problems with this, feel free to reopen this thread. Cheers!
