Shooter weapon attachment

Am i only able to attach a shooter weapon prefab to only arms and hands? (it seems like it) 

I'm trying to make a cyclops shooting a laser from its eye but i can only attach the eye prefab to a hand....

Hey so i saw the new root attachment on the melee mod, I think I get it how it works but I might have a special case with this non-humanoid character.  As you can see, its attached, but when I begin an attack the weapon (horn) doesn't stay during the animation. I think the root attachment should work just fine. Just make sure to set the sphere big enough and a bit offset forward like in the mockup I attached below.

One tip though: You don't really need to attach the sphere to the mouth of the character. You only need it where the attack is landing. That's right in front of him.

The sphere hitbox isn't following the animation, see?

Yeah yeah, exactly. But that's fine. The hitbox doesn't really need to follow the wind up animation. It just needs to be where the attack lands.

Once thing I see is that the "active" state of the attack is much sooner than the animation attack happens. I'd recommend moving the slider so that the active frames fit the time where the beast smashes the head on the ground. And maybe make the sphere a bit smaller.
