I don't know if I should invest the time to learn to use 1.0，and buy modules
I think it’s always going to be modules, as you then only buy the functionality that you need and the developers also need to make some money otherwise we wouldn’t even have GameCreator.
If you are lucky there is always a May Madness sale at Unity Asset Store but there is no guaranty that GC will be on sale. For what you get it is cheap anyway.
Version 2 will most probably be first next year and anything you learn in this Version will help you in V2 anyway as the concept will be the same, just more and most probably even quicker and easier to use.
Just go for it to help to build the community and so that GC gets better and better.
Game Creator price is fair enough, and the amount of features insane. just buy it , you´ll not regret . Good luck!!
I wouldn't have said it better. Regarding version 2, as Eagleeyez says, there's no definitive deadline (as we usually miss them anyway), but we aim to release a Beta around 2020.4. That is around more than a year from now, in April 2021.
However, all Game Creator knowledge from the first version will be transferrable to the latest update. I think we've designed a very beginner-friendly and flexible toolset for advanced users, that we don't want to break. Actions will still be there, same as Conditions and Triggers. What's going to change is how we approach the code architecture, leveraging the latest bleeding edge tech from Unity (such as polymorphic serialization and DOTS).
When does the game creator go on sale? Right now. GC and most modules are 50% off until the Spring 2020 sale ends.
