2019.3 new input system

Aeon FitzGerald 9 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 9 months ago 1

Tried switching to the new input system but i'm guess GC is dependent on the old version?

If not how can i implement it without errors? otherwise, i'll continue to use the legacy version.

Unity version:
2019.3
Game Creator version:
1.1.5

Hi Aeon;

Game Creator's officially supported version is 2018.4 LTS, where the new Input System is not available by default. In fact, it isn't for any Unity version, as I believe the new Input system is still under development.

We can't switch to the new one, since Game Creator is built around the old system. However, we've already experimented with the new Input System with some very promising results. We're looking forward implementing it in the future, but we won't be able to do so unless Unity makes it the default new input. Otherwise, user's without it will receive red errors and will most likely feel frustrated.

Unity's changing a lot of its systems and we're living in a time of big changes. Transitions are hard to maintain and support, but I'm confident we're heading into the right direction.

Let me know if you have any more questions :-)
