Feet snaps up during Gesture

Crispy 9 months ago in Game Creator updated by Mirabel 3 months ago 7

https://streamable.com/t8koq This is what's happening. The feet moving around isn't a problem -- an Avatar Mask solves this https://streamable.com/xop7j . The problem is the feet snapping up then back down. The animations are not the problem: https://streamable.com/2niup

Same results with Feet IK off.

What could be the problem??

This is due to the animations not being set up with IK curves. Check out this section in the documentation: https://docs.gamecreator.io/game-creator/game-creator/characters/advanced/ik-in-custom-animations.

If your animations don't have information about the IK pass, but the next animation does, when transitioning from one to the other, the IK pass will make the feet snap to the ground.

The solution is to add the leftFoot_IK and rightFoot_IK curves set to 1 (like an Idle pose).

EDIT: The solution is to add the IK_leftFoot and IK_rightFoot curves set to 1 (like an Idle pose).

Docs said to use IK_leftFoot and IK_rightFoot. I tried your spelling and the docs'. Doesn't work.

Click on the green line with the black background and change the line to a value of 1. By default is set to zero. The correct spelling is the one found on the documentation.

That's what I had. Is this wrong??

This hasn't been solved. Is there something wrong with the Avatar Mask?

Hi Crispy; Sorry for the late reply, this ticket was misplaced and marked as resolved. If you have correctly set up the IK foot curves, check out the Avatar Mask. You've disabled the IK sections of the feet (they appear in red). This means that the Gesture will play without having an IK pass, showing that snapping.

Hey,

I went trough all your solutions in this post but nothing seems to solve the issue. I have the same feet snap whenever I pull out a weapon for example (or holster it) or any other gesture I play with a custom animation. Here are some vidoes:

Is there something else to be done?

Thanks in advance for your time.
