Quest Error - objects were not cleaned up when closing the scene

IndieGameHustle 3 months ago in Quests updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 2 months ago 5

Hello,

When I am calling the Quest Menu I am getting the below error in the console.

Error in console :

Some objects were not cleaned up when closing the scene. (Did you spawn new GameObjects from OnDestroy?)

The following scene GameObjects were found:

GameCreator.Quests.QuestsManager(singleton)

Thank You

Thanks for reaching out. First of all, this error is benign and should not cause any problems with your game. The problem is in the order in which Unity destroys each object in the scene hierarchy.

There's a workaround but we're unsure if it's implemented in the Quests module. We're opening a ticket to see this fixed, but meanwhile, rest assured this won't affect your game in any way.

Cheers!

Fixed

Hi IndieGameHustle. I've fixed this issue so I'm marking this ticket as Fixed. The patch will be available in the upcoming days. If you still encounter any problems after that, feel free to continue the conversation here. Happy game making!

Hello Team,

I have updated Inventory, Quest and GC and I am still getting this issue.

Please let me know if you need anything from me that could help.

We'll reopen the ticket and investigate this further. It's not a top priority since this is an issue only happening in the Editor and has no adverse consequences, although I agree it looks awful a red error every time you close the Player
