I created an item from the inventory catalog. The item doesn’t do anything except to be a story item. Once the player has the item, the player can then access the next area of the game. 

However, I want an item description ui to pop up when the player clicks on it from the inventory screen. 

I thought of using the “on click” check box to action “set active” the description ui. But i can’t use anything from the hierarchy. I tried creating a prefab in projects window and use that but it doesn’t seem to work either. 
I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or it just doesn’t work. 

Is there any other way of achieving this?

never mind, I figured it out. I just had to use the instantiate action instead.
