Hi will you be adding Grabs and Throw attacks to the Melee module?
Unfortunately, that's outside of the scope of the Melee module. grabs and throws require synchronized animations, which depends on the type of enemy and player interacting. Because there's no "generic" solution to achieve this, we're hesitant to include it.
However, you can make two characters move to a specific point when performing a grab and use the Play Gesture action on both sides to make the characters play a synchronized animation.
I made a sword and shield with seprearate prefabs for each but my shield prefab isnt displayed when i unsheathe the sword. The player still displays the block anims(which are on the shield) when i block just the shield isnt displayed.
Hi; Circling back to this issue, I'm closing since it has already been fixed. It will be available in the upcoming Melee module update (most likely tomorrow).
Nothing needs to be done on your end. The problem was on ours, since a method to equip the shield was there, but was never called. Thanks for bringing this!
Is melee already submited to the asset store?
Just wondering as you wanted to have it in the asset store for the 15 March and that is tomorrow
As Paul mentioned, it was submitted two Saturdays ago. However, Unity posted a message explaining that due to the CV19 outbreak, all their employees are workin from home and this will most likely disrupt the review times. Here's the full message:
With the global spread of coronavirus and COVID-19, Unity employees have transitioned to working from home. Disruptions over the past weeks, and the very recent transition to working from home will continue to have an impact on curation times.
Currently we are at 15 business days, which is not something we are happy with. We look forward to getting back to the 3 business days that we all enjoyed earlier in the year.
Publishers can help us get there by double checking that their packages are ready to go, and work as expected.
So my guess is that it should be live around this or the next week. However, it's a wild guess and anything is possible.
i want to use GC's current tools for sword and staff combat but its just not working how i want it to, hoping that melee will offer smoother results, i cant even add physics to my characters or enemy's for them to react to being hit because of how the character controller works.

I heard that Game Creator doesn't work with third person melee controllers like Opsive/Invector. Is that true? And if it is, does Game Creator have any plans to release their own melee/ranged controlled to be used with this product?
Thanks for reaching out. Correct, Game Creator is not (directly) compatible with Inventor or Opsive's third-person character controllers.
However, we're building our own extensions that seamlessly integrate with Game Creator, adding features such as branching conversations, inventory management, shooting stuff or swinging swords.
We just released the Shooter module, which allows you to easily create ranged weapons, such as throwing fireballs, shooting guns, launching grenades, and using bows and arrows.
The upcoming module, Melee, will deal with close range combat, such as swinging weapons with combos. This is still in pre-production phase, but it won't take long till development starts.
