Orbit the camera with Touch screen?

L.G. Patlán 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by ProfPivec 3 months ago 2

Hi, I just bought this asset because I need to make an Interactive Product Visualizer, the problem I found:

I can't find a way to make my camera orbit around the product without a Mouse

I'm planning to use this on Smartphones and Tablets.

¿Is there a possible way to make this with the Game Creator Asset?

Sadly I found this problem after the purchase :(

Thanks in advance and good day!

Evaluate: time parameter is not a valid number when attempting to change timescale to 0 or 1 and turn off/on UI elements.

Hexmal 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 3 months ago 2

Create two UI panels, add a trigger and actions to change timescale to 0, UI panel 1 to inactive, UI panel 2 to active, and another to change timescale to 1 and set UI panel 1 to active and UI panel 2 to inactive.

Result:

Evaluate: time parameter is not a valid number
UnityEngine.Canvas:SendWillRenderCanvases()

First Person Camera Head Bobbing is not smoothed

Randovski 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 2 hours ago 5

Sorry for my terrible English。

When I use of the First-Person Camera,  I found that Head Bobbing is not smoothed.

At the beginning and the end of the movement, the Camera shakes and It doesn't go smoothly back to the original position.

The larger the Amount, the more obvious it is.

How can I solve this problem?

Possible GC Action Track bug?

larrygj 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 3 months ago 3

Using the latest Unity version 2019.4.1 LTS, and after making sure the Player option "Is Controllable" is unchecked, when I create a custom GC Action Track and add an Action to it as an Asset, Unity crashes when the timeline reaches that asset in Play Mode. The action is a simple character gesture, nothing more. Is this a bug?

Is it possible to make a board game with Game Creator ?

Saphhire 3 months ago in Game Creator updated 3 months ago 2

Hi, I just recently discovered Game Creator and see some tutorials, but I was wondering if we could make a sort of board game-type of game. Like there are two players and it's turn-based with a dice (Monopoly games for example)

Im having this issue as well. Im using 2019 LTS. Variables wont stay in prefabs. The globa variables are not checked for saving either.

See video link. Im entering and exiting prefab. Also happens when I enter and exit playmode.

Answer

This issue has been addressed and will be fixed in the next version. We've split the Change Camera action into two: One for changing to a new camera motor using a scene motor and another one from a Global/List/Local variable.

No breaking changes are expected. Cheers!

Move Player (a floating bot) Up and Down

Byron Bennett 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 3 months ago 1

Hello,

I am using the Character Controller for the Player, and cannot figure out how to allow the character to move up and down in space. I've tried several of the camera motors.

I've turned of gravity and fall speed so my character can float in space, and that works. I'm able to move it on the initial plane, but cannot figure out how to get it to go up or down.

Ideally, I'd like to lock the player's rotation on the initial plane (I think the x-axis), but need to be able to have move player vertically.

This is a little drone bot that the player will be driving around to inspect a set of objects that exist along the x, y, and z axes.

Thanks, for your help!

Player can't look and move at the same time

sl8rv 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 3 months ago 3

Getting started with GameCreator, just trying to get some of the basics working. Having trouble with a player and an FPS camera motor. The issue I'm running into is that while I've managed to get things working roughly my character can't change where they're looking while they're moving.

My set up is pretty simple, this is the hierarchy of the relevant aspects:
MainCamera

- Camera Controller

Player

- PlayerCamera

- FPS Camera Motor

I load the scene, add the player prefab, add the playercamera and set the Camera Controller motor to the FPS camera motor and I'm seeing this behavior. Code below:

IEnumerator loadScene(string name, LoadSceneMode mode){

AsyncOperation newScene = SceneManager.LoadSceneAsync(name, mode);

while (!newScene.isDone){ yield return null; }

SceneManager.SetActiveScene(SceneManager.GetSceneByName(name)); player = Instantiate( Resources.Load<GameObject>("Prefabs/Core/Player"),

new Vector3(500, 1, 500),

Quaternion.LookRotation(Vector3.forward, Vector3.up) // This should rotate forward );

GameObject playerCamera = Instantiate(

Resources.Load<GameObject>("Prefabs/Core/PlayerCamera"),

new Vector3(500, 2.5f, 500),

Quaternion.LookRotation(Vector3.forward, Vector3.up)

);

playerCamera.transform.parent = player.transform; mainCamera.GetComponent<CameraController>().currentCameraMotor = playerCamera.GetComponent<CameraMotor>(); }

Apologies for the poor formatting, but it doesn't appear that this forum has any code formatting tools. If anyone could point me to relevant documentation that would also be very helpful. I'm having a lot of trouble finding reasonable documentation for these components.

Rotate Player and Camera on Teleport

Boomcrash 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by Marti (Lead Developer) 3 months ago 2

When using the Teleport action, the players position changes correctly, but with Rotate checked, they rotate, but quickly snap to player controllers previous orientation. I'd like to have the player teleport to a new location and inherit the orientation of the transform that they teleported to and continue moving in that direction. Any suggestions?

Game Creator 1.1.9 Update is not working on Unity 2018 LTS version

Mirabel 3 months ago in Game Creator updated by caalis 1 month ago 5

Hi,

I tried updating Game Creator with the latest Patch (1.1.9) but I can't install it on my 2018 LTS Unity version :( .

It asks for the 2019.4 version. It has an important fix for the camera wall clip I really need. Can it also be  installed on 2018 LTS?
